What are the odds of surviving multiple gunshot wounds to the chest?
Say an healthy male, 18, is shot in the chest with a .45 four times. What are the odds of the heart/lungs getting hit? And what would the odds of him living if the heart of lungs are hit? Should have mentioned earlier, hollow-point .45s.

- heart and lung hit odds are slim to none. the human body is amazing though. I've seen some wild casualties. 45 ACP would cause massive hydra shock and tissue damage though. in my experience it seems like most rifle round pierce like a laser beam and if nothing important is hit. you just may be fine. too many variables though. what type of ammo is used? FMJ will go right on through. while a hollow point will mushroom and shred and break up causing wound channels. i heard a story about a guy in a different unit get shot through nothing but flesh in his arm and the bullet cauterized the wound and he didn't know it until a while after the fight. so it all depends on if its his time or not really
- 98% of the time it his some thing vital.about 99.99999 %.. it kills him if it don't get medical attention right then and more that a few minutes for a hospital. There is always that one miracle that happens and they live. However i don't want to tempt faith do you? I can shoot a 50 cent piece at 50 feet. An i have shot a person. So i aim for a leg or shoulder..unless i want to kill them in a me or them situation. Then it is good night Grayce.
